What is Congressional Hill Day?Congressional Hill Day is your opportunity to team up with fellow scientists and speak to your congressional representatives about legislation on important scientific issues! We'll train you on how to prepare your pitch and set up your virtual meetings. This year, we are advocating for topics including increased federal funding to support critical scientific research. Together, we can provide the momentum to make these important policies a reality!

Why Be A Science Advocate?
As a scientist at Stanford, chances are you are funded with federal dollars. We are grateful for Congress’ strong, sustained support of scientific research, and experience first-hand critical innovation made possible by federal funding.
About Us
The Stanford Science Policy Group aims to create a central hub to engage and educate scientists/non-scientists in policy, provide students with tools for science policy professional development, expose students to thoughtful speakers that work in various sectors of policy development (legislative, legal, etc.).
Science Policy Hill Day 2024 will be an interdisciplinary, science policy-focused event with an associated training workshop. The workshop will cover topics such as science policy and policy-making in Washington, D.C.; and methods for science advocacy. On Virtual Hill Day, student scientists will be given the opportunity to interact directly with policymakers and professional political advocates.
